What is Aluminum Silicon Carbide?Silicon carbide can be found in common grinding stones, wheels and blades. It has a harder hardness than corundum but a lower one than cubic boron, boron carbide and diamond. The micropores in this preform are not present in ordinary silicon-carbide ceramics. The molten aluminum will then be hydraulically poured into the micropores in a vacuum environment using special equipment. This will form the aluminum-silicon carbide composite. Aluminum-silicon carbide composite material has the advantage that it combines ceramics with the low thermal expand coefficient and thermal conductivity of aluminum. It is more efficient than tungsten and copper. It is also able to form large and special shaped parts which tungsten can't.
